Who we are

We are Alyson and Meghan, but call us Aly and Meg! We strongly believe in a good sweat and surrounding ourselves with great people. 

We have a passion for movement, pump-up playlists, community and food - we really love food. The two of us were brought together by our love for PR, but our passion for group fitness (and burpees) has kept us attached at the hip ever since.

Don’t worry, you aren’t only stuck with us. We have two other amazing instructors, Emily and Kylie and we can’t wait for you to move with them.

Aly | co-founder

I come from the dance world where I was a competitive dancer for 10 years. When I was in my teens, I made a 180 transition and got into indoor and beach volleyball. My love for a team-feel is what led me to fall in love with group fitness, and later on to become a barre instructor. I became obsessed with the connection of movement and music.

When I am not teaching district, I am eating pasta & drinking good wine with my fiance & french bulldog, Charles - you may see him make some guest appearances in our videos! Come sweat the District with me.

Meg | co-founder

I’ve been in dance class and surrounded by fitness since I can remember (my parents met in a duathlon) and found that group fitness classes filled the void of moving to music when I quit ballet school in my late teens. I moved on to teaching barre classes and fell in love with the community and people. Now, I’m a big fan of using heavier weights and the flexibility of at-home classes.

I am a big believer in a good sweat, being surrounded by wonderful people and always making room for dessert. When I’m not moving with District, I’m working my communications job I love, heading out on a run (I love to run), drinking vino with friends, or thinking about my next meal… I hope to see you on Sweat Collection!

Emily | add some sweetness to your sculpt classes

With a ballerina for a mother, I’ve always been inspired to move. Dance has always been a huge part of my life and still is today. I graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England and when I wasn’t in a ballet class I was checking out a fitness class! My love for fitness and movement led me to start teaching barre in 2016 which then brought me to B.C. where I taught classes at the Lululemon and Aritzia headquarters. 

What I love most about teaching fitness is the community it cultivates. Teaching allows me endless creative ways and possibilities that we can move our bodies for a good burn. Join me for a barre, HIIT or pilates style class! I promise fun playlists and creative moves to the music.

Kylie | blends yoga strength with yoga softness

My biggest joy comes from sharing how movement can be healing. As a mover all my life, I’ve seen how yoga and fitness can change people not just physically, but mentally and even spiritually for the better. With over 500hrs of training, I bring a modern-yogi perspective to the masses: from sun salutations to snoop dog. I show clients how to build their own body awareness so that every class feels great.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my grandma, my dogs and my friends. If I’m not sweating with District, you’ll find me at the hot yoga studio, the dog park, or on a bike ride! During the day, I’m elbow-deep in superfoods for The Gut Lab!
